Depp vs Hasselhoff

with 25 comments

Saturday, I made a last.fm account (go be my friend, loser). I’m not sure what I think about it yet, except that it showed me this:

Pantera’s Fucking Hostile – An asspie’s interpretation
A broken pikachu, Heir Fritz, the outer toe!
I would say this is the best video ever of all time, even with the Britishisms, except it’s spelled Darrell, you manky nutt!

Also by the same dude:

Slayer’s Angel of Death Hey, Johnny Depp!

  5. Awesome. Metal is so much better when you misinterpret it.

  6. My favorite one was from those head slammin metalergists Mannferd Man.

Wrapped up like a douche, you know the roller in the night ?

“Dressed up like a dude, another roller in the night.”
“Wrapped up like a douche, I knew their owner every night.”
“Racked up like a douche, another lover in the night.”
“Wake up like a douche, or a rubber in the night.”
“Torn up like a douche, another stoner in the night.”
“Wrap up the old deuce, a Nutter Butter in the night.”
“Wrapped up like a douche, another rumor in the night.”

  8. yea , I googled it, I dont think anyone wants to claim credit for those lyrics. It seems they’re all passing the buck or crying pornographic plagiarism or some stupid shit.
Springsteen, is he ever going to clear his throat ?

I suck up behind him and pissed on his ass.

  12. @ Cody: Yeah, metal is wonderful when it comes to misinterpretation, probably because the vocals are a bit more obscured and distorted than in other styles. Bagel can tell you what the growliest death metal or screechiest black metal singer is saying, but she can’t do the same for The Chipmunks.

@ Keywork: Glad that made your day. Perhaps you’d like this

@ Micky: You listen to Prodigy? I knew there was something about you I liked!

@ Bagel: It’s a shame about Dan Fogelberg.

  13. Soy: I heard about what happened with Fogelberg. I really liked his songs, so it made me sad.

  14. Prodigy, chem bros, apex twins, RobZombie, all the way back to Sonny Terry & Brownie McGee (the true founders of rock, NOT ELVIS!)
I listen to it all , except for chinese opera. A lot gets lost in translation.
I’m a percussionist Ape, but no doubt (gwen is fuckable) I’m not as good as you.
If you play like you write.
You need to link me to a demo.
    I wanna hear you play.

  16. I once heard an Enya/Prodigy mashup called Smack my Bitch up the Orinoco Flow.
Too bad it sucked…it could have been epic.

  17. A think a must hear ( especially for the Ape) would be “Hamburger train” by Primus.
    Its one of my favorites.
Its so long and complex you cant help but hear something new in it every time you play it.
If you’ve never heard it before, consider it your Christmas gift.

  20. Primus, I could take or leave. I can’t take anything away from them as musicians. Very intricate stuff…

    Soylent Ape

    December 18, 2007 at 11:19 pm

  21. Yeah, Primus is something I like in small doses. Les Claypool is a bass monster. Of course, I’ve always been a big fan of Rancid’s Matt Freeman. I played bass for a few years. And then I stopped.

  22. Tim Alexander, its all about the drummer, it always is.
Drummers get the least amount of credit I swear. But if it werent for them most of the music would no balls.
You can replace most instruments with another in just about every piece of music.
But when you leave out the drums, its like a boneless body.
    Bagel wouldnt like that.

  23. My highest respect to Garth Knight. He would be a great opponent. And now I’m serious.

  24. @ Keywork: I dig Rancid a lot. Also, don’t forget about Pennywise, All, and The Refused. The ’90s were an oft-overlooked period for punk. I play bass, too.
