Making MySpace useful
Yes, bloggers. There is a use for myspace.
Aside from all the trojan-infested ringtones you can download, myspace is a great image host.
- Idiot proof interface with a shiny new bulk upload feature.
- Acceptable directory structure for filing and finding.
- Hotlinking enabled.
- Auto generated thumbnails.
- Unlimited space: I have a half gig on there now.
- Infinite bandwidth: Unlike some popular hosts
- Stability: While the website itself often fails, I’ve rarely seen a picture fail to load.
- Anonymity: As far as I know, it isn’t possible to hack the img url back to the profile. This is a pro or con, depending on your needs.
- Having images.myspacecdn.com as the photo url is only slightly more lame than shouting “free image hosting at photobucket”.
- You already have an account: Don’t lie. You know you do.

I know of one hack for private photos; I’ll have to see if it provides not only the photo but the url as well. I can’t recall ATM.

Not true. I USED to have one but I soon grew tired of all the ghetto types leaving messages on my page.

Honestly, I’ve got so many projects going on that I’d hate to commit to something I can’t work on! Why don’t you start it and see where it goes from there?

BTW, how would myprisonspace.com work? These would be kids on myspace who went to prison, right?
